After a public announcement and a potential lawsuit, Paresh Rawal confirmed that all differences have been resolved and he’s all set to return to Hera Pheri 3 and reunite with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Now, in a chat with Pinkvilla, filmmaker Priyadharshan stated that there were never any issues between him and Paresh. In fact, he revealed that even Paresh and Akshay did not have a falling out.
“Paresh and I never had an issue. To the best of my knowledge, even Akshay and Paresh never had any problems. There were other forces, bad forces, who were pressurising Paresh. He is someone who worries about his health, but that has never affected our relationship,” Priyadarshan said.
He added, “Akshay told me, ‘Prince sir, if it happens, let it happen.
Otherwise, let’s forget it.’ There were other bad forces creating unnecessary issues, but it’s not worth discussing them. Filmmaking is like this—you have friends, enemies, fans, critics. I still don’t know how I’ve survived 40 years in the industry.”
Recently, Paresh Rawal exclusively spoke to News18 Showsha and opened up about his exit and his relationship with Priyadarshan. “A lot has happened, but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai,” he said.
Paresh Rawal also told us, “In fact, what has happened is that it has further solidified our equation. Through all of this, we now know each other in a sharper and better way. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. Our relationship is very transparent.”
The actor recently wrapped up the shoot of Priyadarshan’s Bollywood comeback, Bhoot Bangla. Interestingly, the duo has collaborated on more than ten films and Hera Pheri 3 is set to be their 15th film together. For the unversed, earlier this year, the veteran actor officially exited the Priyadarshan directorial and his sudden departure shocked Akshay, who had bought the rights to the beloved franchise.
Few films in Bollywood have reached the cult status of Hera Pheri (2000). Directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, the comedy about three desperate men stumbling into a ransom call gone wrong has lived on through memes, dialogues, and repeat television runs for more than two decades. Now, talk of Hera Pheri 3 has set the internet buzzing once again.
