India A will face New Zealand A in a three-match four-day series in Christchurch from October 24, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced on Tuesday. The red-ball fixtures will form part of India’s preparations for their upcoming two-Test series against New Zealand later in the tour.
The India A matches have been included in New Zealand’s domestic red-ball schedule and will precede the senior teams’ Test series. NZC said the Plunket Shield season would receive an “injection of international class” with India A’s visit to Christchurch.
India are scheduled to tour New Zealand for a packed white-ball and red-ball assignment, comprising five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests. The Test series will begin in Wellington on November 19, with the second match
scheduled in Christchurch from November 27.
The two sides are currently placed fifth and third respectively in the World Test Championship standings, making the series significant for both teams’ preparations.
New Zealand will also look to build on their memorable performance from their previous Test tour of India, where they created history by completing a 3-0 series sweep in 2024-25.
