Kochi, May 5 (PTI) The Central GST Audit Commissionerate here on Tuesday said audit detections in Kerala recorded a three-fold increase, crossing Rs 1,128 crore in the financial year 2025-26.
The announcement was made during the first Auditor’s Day organised by the Commissionerate at its office here to review and discuss major GST audit findings and best practices.
Commissioner (Audit) T Tiju, who inaugurated the event, said audits in the GST era are increasingly data-driven and rely on modern technology, according to a statement.
He urged auditors to continuously upgrade their skills while remaining taxpayer-friendly.
Congratulating audit teams for the sharp rise in detections, he said the achievement reflected constructive engagement between the department
and taxpayers.
The event also featured presentations on audit detections of national significance and discussions on best practices in GST audits.
Senior officers from the Central and State GST departments across Kerala attended the function. High-performing audit teams and audit circles in the state were felicitated on the occasion.
Commissioner (central GST & central excise, Kochi) Kalimuthu K, Additional Commissioner (Audit) Arunprasad R L, and Additional Commissioner (state GST department) K J Jepson also addressed the gathering.
An in-house Hindi magazine titled ‘Pratidhwani’ was launched during the event. PTI LGK SSK
