After conquering the global box office, Kantara: Chapter 1 is now ready to make its grand digital debut. The Rishab Shetty directorial, which opened to packed theatres on Gandhi Jayanti 2025, will begin

streaming on Prime Video India from October 31.

The announcement was made by the streaming giant with a short 19-second teaser from the movie. The post was captioned, “get ready to witness the LEGENDary adventure of BERME #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31.”

The film will be available in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, while the Hindi dubbed version will arrive later. Kantara: Chapter 1 marks another milestone for Kannada cinema as it continues to make waves across linguistic and regional boundaries.

Kantara: Chapter 1 Closes In On Rs. 830 Crore Global Mark
Directed, written, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the mythological epic has emerged as one of India’s biggest blockbusters of 2025. The film has grossed approximately Rs. 780 crore worldwide in just 25 days, with about Rs. 667 crore coming from domestic markets alone.

Trade experts predict the final tally could reach between Rs. 820–830 crore globally, though the early OTT release might slightly affect its theatrical earnings. Meanwhile, the English-dubbed version of the film is also set to release on October 31, expected to contribute further to its overall revenue.

Star Cast And Production Details
Serving as a prequel to the 2022 phenomenon Kantara: A Legend, the new instalment dives deeper into the folklore and spiritual roots of the saga. Besides Rishab Shetty, the cast includes Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram, and others.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, the movie combines divine myth with raw storytelling — a trademark that has now become synonymous with Shetty’s vision.
