Spinner Digvesh Rathi is not playing for Lucknow Super Giants in their sixth match of IPL 2026, which is taking place at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Sunday, April 19, against Punjab Kings. According to LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, who opts to bowl first, Rathi has been dropped from Sunday’s match against PBKS. In his place, Manimaran Siddharth is playing for the Super Giants.
“(Manimaran) Siddharth comes in and (Digvesh) Rathi misses out,” Rishabh Pant said when asked about changes in LSG’s playing XI.
26-year-old Rathi, who has 17 wickets to his name in 17 IPL matches played so far, conceded 51 runs in his quota of four overs in LSG’s last IPL match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy
Stadium and was not able to take even one wicket.
However, in three matches prior to that fixture, he picked up one wicket in each game.
Rathi is one of the five impact subs listed by LSG for the IPL 2026 match against PBKS, but since LSG are bowling first, there are negligible chances of him coming in during the second half of the match. LSG would rather bring in Matthew Breetzke, Abdul Samad or Himmat Singh.
PBKS, on the other hand, are playing with an unchanged XI. The Shreyas Iyer-led side are coming into Sunday’s match against LSG after securing a big win over Mumbai Indians in their last match (on April 16).
In that fixture, Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh scored half-centuries for them in the 196-run chase at Wankhede Stadium.
