Two motorcyclists killed in Sultanpur road accident

Sultanpur (UP), May 31 (PTI) A speeding Scorpio hit a motorcycle from behind on Sunday here, killing two riders and critically injuring another as they returned from offering prayers at Lohramau Temple, police said.

SHO of Kotwali Dehat police station Dharamraj Singh said Amit Kumar alias Ram Murat (37), Dharamraj (40) and Vijay Bahadur (28) were riding the motorcycle.

After the Scorpio struck their motorcycle, the three men were left critically injured, the SHO said.

“With the residents’ assistance, they were rushed to a hospital, where Ram and Dharamraj succumbed to their injuries. Vijay is undergoing treatment,” police said.

The driver abandoned his Scorpio and fled the scene, said police, adding that they have seized the vehicle. Police said the bodies

have been sent for post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding driver. PTI COR NAV ASD ASD
