An Indian influencer has caused outrage in Canada by posting a video suggesting that giving birth in the country could be a way to obtain Canadian permanent residency (PR) on humanitarian grounds. He claimed
this should be the last option if other immigration options fail and said it could be a safe method if done after legal advice. Locals criticised by claiming that it’s a misuse of the country’s immigration system.
One of the individuals even called it a “parasite class” behaviour and demanded that any loopholes allowing this be closed immediately.
Indian Influencer Suggests Giving Birth To Get Canada PR
In the clip, the individual explains, “So, friends, if you want to be a PR in Canada, then as a last option, you can do it through your baby. Yes, if your baby is Canadian-born, then on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, best interest of the child. You can apply for PR. You can get rejection in this route, so go this route only after proper planning and legal consultation, also this should be your last option.”
The video posted on X (Formerly Twitter) came with the caption, “The parasite class is now promoting to have a baby in Canada as a way to get Permanent Residence. Liberal’s BillC3 will turn this into chain mass citizenship handout. We need every loophole closed and mass deportation immediately.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “This is well known from decades ago.”
Another shared, “Chinese birthing houses were deemed legal in Vancouver like 10+ years ago too.”
“Are you a Native Canadian? Like Native Native? If not, you’re a Parasite yourself,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “These loopholes were intentionally left while making laws because every political party needs a loyal vote bank, no matter who they are or what damage they can do to the nation.”
Another mentioned, “Hate for Indians is unreal.”
One more added, “This is happening not just in Canada, in America as well (not just by Indians). Everyone from other countries is scamming Immigration laws in America.”
Humanitarian and Compassionate Visa
The Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) visa is for people who are already in Canada but cannot apply for permanent residence due to unusual rules. To use this option, a person must have special personal reasons to look fair to get an exemption from these rules. This visa is only for those who cannot apply for PR through other regular categories, like being a Spouse or Common-Law Partner, Economic Class, Protected Person and Convention Refugees and Temporary Resident Permit Holder.
