Rakul Preet & Malavika Mohanan Share A Masterclass In Styling A Bodycon Dress

If you’ve been scrolling the interweb, there’s a theory doing the rounds – 2016 is back. From vision boards and wired earphones to low-rise jeans and velour tracksuits, the era of unserious chaos is back. And adding another nail to the wall is that bodycon and bandage dresses are also making a major comeback.

Proving this are actors Rakul Preet Singh and Malavika Mohanan. They made a fashionable case for bodycon dresses, which used to be popular among celebrities like Paris Hilton and the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

25/26 collection. Perfect to feel cosy on a chill winter’s day, Rakul Preet’s long-sleeved dress is edgy yet glam.

As Rakul Preet Singh suffered a severe spine/back injury in late 2024 while attempting an 80 kg deadlift, the actor has been skipping the heels for most of her glam moments. This is a refreshing take, as it shows that fashion doesn’t mean putting yourself in pain. She paired it with a pair of black patent leather loafers with hints of red to them.

For her glam, Rakul Preet opts for brown smoky eyes to go with her edgy outfit, and a nude brown lip complements it. Styled by Natashaa Bothra, she accessorised her look with chunky gold earrings, and a few rings dotted her hands.

Styled by Simran Kumar, actor Malavika Mohanan wore a knit maxi dress by the brand SELF-PORTRAIT. It has peekaboo lace detailing at the waist and sleeves, giving this lavender viscose knit dress a certain see-and-be-seen allure.  The cutout details add another layer of soft femininity to the overall fit and make for a knockout party look.

Malavika Mohanan paired this look with nude pumps and wore her hair in a classic half-up and half-down hairstyle. She added silver jewellery, with pearl drop earrings, and a few rings dotted her hands.

For the glam, the actor opted for soft makeup, with mauve eyeshadow and a classic wing liner to add depth to her eyes. A smattering of pink blush and a matte nude-pink lipstick rounded off the look.
