The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will felicitate star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh on Saturday (November 8) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. According to available information, Richa, who played a big role in India’s ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 title win on Sunday (November 2), will be honoured with a gold-plated bat and ball signed by the legendary Sourav Ganguly and Jhulan Goswami.
CAB President Ganguly praised Richa’s talent, composure, and determination and called her an inspiration for young cricketers.
“Richa Ghosh has shown remarkable talent, composure, and fighting spirit on the world stage. Honouring her with this gold bat and ball is a small token of our recognition for her extraordinary contribution to Indian
cricket. She is an inspiration for every young cricketer in Bengal and across the country,” Ganguly said while speaking to media.
CAB also expressed immense pride in Richa’s journey from Siliguri to the world stage, describing her dedication, discipline, and fearless approach as truly inspiring. The association in a release added that this recognition will motivate many more young girls to take up the sport and pursue their dreams with the same determination.
Richa’s performance in WC 2025
Richa played eight matches for Team India in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and scored 235 runs with a strike rate of 133.52. On the night of the final against South Africa at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Richa came out to bat at No. 7 and scored 34 runs from 24 balls. In the league match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam on October 9, Richa hammered 94 runs from 77 balls after walking out to bat at No. 8 for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side.
In addition to her batting, Richa impressed with her wicketkeeping as well, and she completed a total of four catches.
