Well, days ahead of the final episodes’ release, the makers of the show, the Duffer Brothers, have dropped a major hint, suggesting that the beloved character of Steve might actually die in Stranger Things 5.

Recently, the Duffer Brothers appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, when they teased the show’s ending while playing with Stranger Things Funko dolls. During the segment, the brothers removed Barb’s doll from the table,

since she died in season one and placed Eleven’s doll in a glass of water. They also put Will’s doll on top of Henry, and Vecna’s doll on top of Will. They ended the segment by dropping Steve’s doll from the table – suggesting that the character might die in the season finale.

While this has left the audience wondering if Steve Harrington might actually die in Stranger Things season 5 volume 2.

Meanwhile, a teaser of Stranger Things season 5 volume 2 was also released recently which shows Vecna looking stronger than ever and is ready to move ahead with the final part of his plan. The teaser also hints that fans may finally learn the truth about the Upside Down, a mystery that has stayed alive since the first season.

While the volume two episodes will be dropped on Netflix on December 25, Finn Wolfhard, who plays the role of Mike in the show, also hinted what will happen in the episodes. During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Finn called Stranger Things season 5 volume 2 episode 5 “crispy.” When asked about Episode 6, Escape from Camazotz, Finn paused for a moment and then described it as “shocking.” Moving on to Episode 7, The Bridge, he chose the word “enlightening.” Finally, talking about the last episode, Episode 8, The Rightside Up, Finn describes it in one simple word called it “emotional.”
