Hyderabad, Jun 6 (PTI) The Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police on Saturday launched ‘STHREE RIDE – Women Drivers’ Initiative, aimed at enabling women to become financially independent through dignified employment opportunities in the transport sector.
As part of the first phase of the initiative, specialised training was provided to 50 women bike riders, four women auto drivers, and one woman cab driver, a police release said.
It said increasing women’s participation in public and private transportation services would enhance the sense of safety among female commuters.
