An American digital creator, who is also a mother, has raised concerns about Meta AI’s suggested prompts on Faceboon, claiming that the tool appeared to pull together old and seemingly unrelated information about her children from across her family’s socia media history. Her claims have now sparked a wider online discussion about children’s privacy.
In a video shared across her social media accounts, the creator named Kalie Robbins said that she had uploaded an “innocent” video of herself singing with her daughter in a car. But things turned unsettling when she noticed the questions suggested by Meta AI underneath it.
“Facebook put a meta AI question underneath it that said, ‘Who’s the child passenger?’” she said. “First of all, why in the hell
is that even a suggested question about a minor? But I clicked it and this is where I started getting really uncomfortable. It starts pulling completely separate information for each of my kids. Their names. Birth information. Pictures and videos of them. It pulled a newborn picture from my mom’s page from years ago.”
“Are You Kidding Me?”
She also claimed that another image she had deleted from her own page long ago appeared in the results. “I’m not going to pretend that I know how it works, but I know this picture has not been sitting on my page for years,” she mentioned. “And then Facebook suggests that I ask Meta AI, ‘Where does Kalie Robbins live?’ Are you f***ing kidding me?”
She said that after selecting it, the AI appeared to connect older posts about where she previously lived with newer information about her current location. Kalie said it was particularly concerning that the information was pieced together, even though the video itself contained no location details.
While Kalie acknowledged that she had shared images of her children online, she said she did not realise that separate pieces of information posted over the years could be connected in this way. “Yesterday, I did not understand that posting separate, innocent pieces of our lives over years could mean an AI could sit there and assemble all those breadcrumbs into information about my minor children in seconds. I understand it now, and I’m not okay with it,” she said.
She continued, “I’m removing any identifiable pictures and videos of our kids. I’m going to ask friends and any family I haven’t spoken to to please save those precious memories and then remove my kids from your page. If I take everything off my page, but you still have my kids on yours, it will go to your page. I’ve seen it. It already did it.”

The video has since prompted reactions online, with users expressing concerns about privacy, especially children’s privacy, and about the potential for AI to connect publicly available information.

“So many of us have been fighting to warn about this for years. I’m so sorry this happened. It’s not safe on a public or private account to post your children. Please y’all stop now and delete everything (although as we see that doesn’t solve the situation),” shared a different person.
