Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is already among the most keenly awaited Tamil films currently in production, and the latest chatter around the sequel has only intensified the excitement. A new picture circulating online has sparked speculation that Hrithik Roshan may have arrived in Chennai to shoot a special cameo for the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial.

While the makers have not issued an official confirmation yet, reports suggest that Hrithik may be joining the film for a brief but important appearance. If true, the cameo will mark a major pan-India addition to a film that already carries enormous anticipation after the success of Jailer.

Did Hrithik Roshan Arrive In Chennai For Jailer 2?

The speculation began after a picture surfaced online, with fans

claiming that Hrithik Roshan had reached Chennai. Soon after, reports started doing the rounds that the actor may be in the city to shoot his cameo portions for Jailer 2.

The development has naturally sent fans into a frenzy, especially because Hrithik’s possible association with Rajinikanth’s action drama has been discussed for some time. However, as of now, there has been no official word from the makers of Jailer 2 or from Hrithik’s team.

Earlier reports had claimed that Shah Rukh Khan was being considered for the cameo role. However, the actor was reportedly unable to take up the part due to his commitments to King. Following this, reports suggested that the team was exploring the possibility of bringing Hrithik Roshan on board for the appearance.

If Hrithik does appear in the film, it would add another massive star presence to a sequel that is already expected to be mounted on a much bigger scale.

More About Jailer 2

Jailer 2 is the sequel to Rajinikanth’s blockbuster action entertainer Jailer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film will see Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian.

The sequel is expected to continue the story after the events of the first film, while expanding the world of the franchise with new characters and bigger action set pieces. The first film had become a massive success and was widely discussed for Rajinikanth’s screen presence, Nelson’s treatment and Anirudh Ravichander’s music.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer 2 reportedly features Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are also expected to reprise their characters from the first instalment.

The makers have not announced the official release date yet. However, reports suggest that Jailer 2 could arrive in theatres either on September 11, 2026, or later during the Diwali season.

Apart from Jailer 2, Rajinikanth is also expected to headline the tentatively titled Thalaivar 173. The film is being co-produced by Kamal Haasan under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International.

Earlier reports had suggested that Sundar C would direct the project. Later, it was reported that Cibi Chakravarthi had come on board as the filmmaker. However, recent buzz claims that Dragon fame Ashwath Marimuthu may helm the film with a fresh storyline. An official announcement regarding the director and other details is still awaited.

Rajinikanth is also expected to reunite with Kamal Haasan for the tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion. The project is reportedly set to be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It was announced with a promotional video, while Anirudh Ravichander has been confirmed as the composer for the songs and background score.

For now, all eyes remain on Jailer 2. With reports of Hrithik Roshan’s possible cameo gaining momentum, the Rajinikanth starrer has once again become one of the biggest talking points among fans.
