Palghar, Sep 5 (PTI) More than 500 persons reconverted to Hinduism at a newly opened Krishna temple in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, a spiritual leader said on Saturday.
On the occasion of Janmashtami, the Laddu Gopal temple in the Virar area was inaugurated on Friday, he said.
Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik and former MLAs Hitendra Thakur and Kshitij Thakur were among those who attended the temple opening.
Spiritual leader Narendracharyaji Maharaj said more than 500 individuals, who had previously embraced other faiths due to “financial” or “employment inducements”, were reconverted as Hindus at the temple.
He said that his organisation has successfully facilitated the reconversion of 30,000 to 40,000 individuals as Hindus to date. PTI
