Lakhimpur Kheri/Etah (UP), Jun 21 (PTI) Hundreds of students across madrassas in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri and Etah districts participated in special sessions to mark the 12th International Yoga Day on Sunday.
In Lakhimpur Kheri, a special yoga awareness program was organised at Madarssa Darul Uloom Hanfia in Kheri town.
Yoga trainer Kuldeep Verma said that the students practised various asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Verma said he explained the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular practice, emphasising discipline and positivity while highlighting this year’s theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.
Israr Ahmad, a student, said he enjoyed the Yoga exercises and requested
the instructor to train them at regular intervals.
In Etah, students at Madrassa Chishtia Shauq-e-Rasool and Madrassa Sayyid Rahmat Darul Uloom (Maqsoodpur) in the Jalesar tehsil area, as well as at Jamia Al-Rasool in the Marhara block of Etah tehsil, participated in group yoga sessions, conveying a message of healthy living.
During these events, children performed various yoga postures and breathing exercises.
Umar, a student at Jamia Al-Rasool, said that he enjoys practising yoga.
He said that yoga keeps the body healthy and brings peace to the mind and brain.
He added that his father also practices yoga every morning, which serves as an inspiration for him.
District Minority Welfare Officer Rajni Shukla said that instructions were issued to all 29 madrassas in the district to organise yoga programmes for International Yoga Day.
Shukla added that children in madrassas practised yoga and were informed about its health benefits. PTI COR NAV APL APL
