The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 on February 7 and 8, after deciding to extend the exam to two days due to an increase in applications.
Earlier, the February 2026 CTET session was scheduled to be held on February 8. However, with a higher number of candidates registering this year, the board has revised the schedule and split the examination across two days. The exam will be conducted in 140 cities across the country.
As per the revised plan, Paper II will be held from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm, while Paper I will take place from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm on both days. On February 7 and February 8, the morning session will be for Paper II, followed by Paper I in the afternoon.
Candidates
have been advised to reach their CTET exam centre at least one hour before the exam begins. They must carry their admit card and an original photo identity proof for verification. CBSE has also asked candidates to carefully check the exam date and shift mentioned on their admit card before appearing for the test.
The board has made it clear that no request for change of exam city, centre, or date will be entertained under any circumstances.
