Mohanlal is currently basking in the success of Drishyam 3. The film has already entered the Rs 100 cr club within three days of its release. Well, recently the actor reflected on the challenges faced by the film industry during the COVID-19 pandemic and opened up about the decision to release Drishyam 2 directly on OTT.
Speaking with Reporter TV, Mohanlal said, “Releasing Drishyam 2 directly on OTT was not a deliberate decision. During the COVID period, we could have chosen not to make films at all. But then, many people who worked with us would struggle without jobs, many with families. We did not want that to happen. That is why we made films for OTT platforms. During the COVID period, I acted in around seven films, probably the highest by
any actor at the time. Some films that were made for OTT later got theatrical releases, but many of them did not perform well,” the actor added.
