Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Mumbai concert has landed in controversy after an FIR was filed against the organisers. The case has drawn attention due to alleged illegal laser light use and serious crowd management concerns at the event.
FIR filed after Mumbai concert
Singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s recent concert in Mumbai has come under legal scrutiny. An FIR has been registered against the event organisers following alleged violations during the show held at the MMRDA Grounds on March 28. According to police reports, the organisers used laser lights in a restricted zone despite prior prohibitions. The venue is located close to an airport area where such lighting is not permitted due to safety concerns. The case has been filed against Indrajit Singh, a representative of Tamannaz Worldwide,
who was involved in organising the event.

Laser lights triggered safety concerns
Authorities have pointed out that the use of laser lights near airport zones is strictly regulated. Despite this, the organisers reportedly went ahead with the setup, raising concerns about potential hazards. While the Bombay High Court had earlier refused to impose a blanket ban on laser lights in public spaces in September 2024, it had made it clear that police could take action if such lights posed any risk. In this case, authorities believed the usage crossed safety limits due to the location.
Crowd turnout far exceeded expectations
Another major issue flagged by the police was the unexpectedly large crowd. Organisers had initially informed authorities that around 12,000 people would attend the concert.
However, the actual turnout was significantly higher, with estimates ranging between 18,000 and 20,000 attendees. This surge in crowd size created additional pressure on security arrangements and posed challenges for law enforcement officials managing the event.
Apart from the legal violations, the concert also witnessed a tense incident involving a fan. During Honey Singh’s performance, a woman attempted to jump over a closed gate to gain entry into the venue. Security personnel quickly intervened to stop her. The situation escalated briefly as the fan appeared agitated and reportedly used abusive language when she was prevented from entering.
The incident added to the overall concerns around crowd control and safety at the event.
Yo Yo Honey Singh India tour
The Mumbai concert was part of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s ongoing ‘My Story World Tour’. The tour began in Delhi on March 14, 2026, and has since travelled to multiple cities.
Following the Mumbai show, the singer is scheduled to perform next in Pune and Kolkata as part of the same tour.
