About Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is respectfully known as Hind Ki Chadar, which translates to Shield of India. He is regarded as one of the most courageous figures in Sikh history. In 1675, he chose to give up his life to defend the religious rights of Kashmiri Pandits who were facing persecution under Aurangzeb. He was executed in Chandni Chowk, and this act of martyrdom continues to be remembered across India.
His teachings focus on bravery, compassion and the right of every individual to follow their faith without fear. As the 350th Shaheedi Diwas approaches, gurdwaras and community groups are preparing prayers and gatherings to pay tribute to his life and legacy.
