A new video from Bengaluru has once again highlighted the growing problem of careless two-wheel riders in the country. A woman on a scooter was caught driving on the wrong side in the Baiyappanahalli Overbridge, which connects the Swami Vivekananda Metro station. While coming from the opposite direction, she hit an auto rickshaw that was moving correctly on its route. Instead of accepting her mistake, she began shouting at the auto driver and blocked the road.
People at the spot recorded the incident and how her actions caused a traffic jam of nearly one kilometre. Later, a traffic police officer reached the spot and tried to calm the situation. But the woman continued her argument and made the scene more chaotic.
Scooter Rider Hits Auto And Then
Blames The Driver
The video posted on X came with the caption, “1 km jam, hundreds delayed, all thanks to one person who refused to admit a simple mistake. A Woman drives the wrong way on the road, causing an accident with an auto rickshaw. But the worst part? She had the audacity to scream, abuse and refuse to accept any blame.”
“Her mistake, her fault, yet her ego wouldn’t let her apologise or even calm down. A traffic cop tried his best to bring the situation under control but she was out of control. Meanwhile, a 1 km jam for this nonsense. Sometimes, the biggest obstacle on the road isn’t the traffic, it’s the person whose ego refuses to yield,” the page added.

Social Media Demands Strict Action
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Everyone is focusing on her ego, but the deeper issue is this: in India, driving on the wrong side is treated like a nuisance, not a crime that endangers lives. So people do it casually, then double down when caught, because there is almost zero social or legal cost. Legally and morally, it is 100% her mistake.”
Another shared, “Okay, she is on the wrong side. But what about the others passing beside her? Is it actually allowed for them to go the wrong direction? Or is it a two way single road? If it is a two way road, then her action is not a major offence, it is just an overtake at the wrong spot.”
“If it was a guy, then he would’ve been trashed by an auto guy/cop and the issue solved in 2 mins,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “We are extremely lenient, such people should be sent to jail. Thanks to unlimited freedom of Speech and Inaction and Helplessness of Enforcement.”
Another mentioned, “Revoke the license of these people for a month. And ask them to serve as traffic police for that month.”
One more added, “Traffic police have her details and also have details of the commercial value of time lost due to her road rage. Simply send one cumulative challan of all offences from her side, plus the cost of loss of time and money due to this, to her and let her sort it out in the courts.”
A person jokingly noted, “She is so cute, small and pink helmet. Made my day.”
As of now, it is not clear if the Bengaluru Traffic Police have taken any action or issued a challan against the woman who was riding on the wrong side of the road.
