Power cuts in Bengaluru is nothing new. Only thing people ask for is to know the time beforehand so that they can plan accordingly.
BESCOM has issued a planned electricity shutdown for Tuesday, 25 November
2025, but it does not affect most of core Bengaluru city. The only confirmed outage is in the Kyathasandra sub division belt, which falls under BESCOM’s operational limits but sits closer to Tumakuru than the usual urban neighbourhoods of Bengaluru.
This has caused some confusion online, as many social media posts and aggregator headlines simply label it as a Bengaluru power cut. The official notice, however, specifies that the work is being carried out on rural feeders in the Kyathasandra zone.
Why This Shutdown Is Happening
According to BESCOM’s latest update, the work involves link line maintenance and load management on the Kyathasandra network. This includes testing, tightening, and replacement activities that require a seven-hour shutdown window.
The maintenance schedule is fixed for two days, 25 and 26 November, from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening. These are slow and systematic procedures done to avoid larger faults during the season, especially as November brings unexpected weather fluctuations and load pressure across the network.
Areas Affected By The Shutdown
The areas under this maintenance window are rural pockets around Gandhamachanahalli. These include villages and localities such as Hullenahalli, Kalingayyanapalya, Holakallu, Singipalya, Badesaba Rapalya, Virupasandra, and Veeranaya Kanahalli.
Residents in this belt have been advised to plan around the cut by charging essential devices, arranging water storage if pumps are involved, and preparing for the possibility of delayed restoration in case the work extends slightly beyond the scheduled time.
What About Core Bengaluru Neighbourhoods
For residents in major Bengaluru zones like Whitefield, Indiranagar, Jayanagar, Koramangala, Hebbal, and Yelahanka, there is no BESCOM planned outage officially announced for this date.
The urgent maintenance work that affected Jalahalli and nearby parts of the city over the weekend was scheduled only till 23 and 24 November. As of the latest bulletin, there is no extension of those outages into 25 November.
However, Bengaluru’s grid always carries the possibility of unplanned cuts. Transformer tripping, cable faults, and load imbalances sometimes cause sudden outages even without a scheduled notice.
These are usually short, but the city has seen multiple such micro outages over the past few weeks. Residents are advised to keep essential devices charged and to check local group updates or BESCOM’s helpline if a sudden cut occurs.
Why Planned Outages Are Important
Planned shutdowns may be inconvenient, but they remain a critical part of BESCOM’s effort to reduce large scale failures. When link lines are not maintained, voltage fluctuations and transformer stress rise sharply during peak demand.
Rural belts often require deeper maintenance because networks there include older poles, exposed lines, and long stretches without isolator support. The November schedule is part of the annual pre-winter maintenance cycle that aims to stabilise networks before the cooler months bring increased usage.
How To Check Outages In Your Exact Area
Residents who want clarity for their specific street or apartment can cross check using a few reliable options. Check official website of BESCOM https://bescom.karnataka.gov.in/en where planned outages are mentioned.
Another is calling 1912, the official electricity helpline. For smaller queries, BESCOM’s WhatsApp assistance number also responds to RR number-based checks. These sources usually reflect the correct zone wise information by morning.
What To Expect Tomorrow
To summarise, Bengaluru city itself is not expected to face any major power cuts tomorrow. The scheduled work is limited to the Kyathasandra sub division and nearby villages.
Those living in Tumakuru side pockets under BESCOM’s jurisdiction should prepare for the seven-hour window from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening. The rest of Bengaluru can expect normal supply unless a localised fault occurs.
For now, the city remains largely free of planned disruptions, but staying alert for rapid updates is always wise. Bengaluru’s power grid often moves between calm and sudden interruptions without much warning.
