Captain Smriti Mandhana scored 96 runs from 61 balls and added 142 runs from 91 balls for the second wicket with Australian batter Georgia Voll (54 from 42 balls) in a 167-run chase on Saturday (January 17) to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeat Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets and extend their winning run to four matches. The 2024 WPL champions are the only team this season with a 100% win record.
Smriti was unlucky to miss out on a deserving century in the last match of WPL 2026 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai but did enough to break Harmanpreet Kaur’s record of the highest score by an Indian batter in WPL history.
The win over the Jemimah Rodrigues-led side in the 11th match of WPL 2026 helped RCB open a four-point lead over second-place
Mumbai Indians.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, remained at the bottom of the table. The three-time losing finalists only have two points to their credit from four matches played so far.
