The brother of Deepti Chaurasia (40), the daughter-in-law of Kamla Pasand and Rajshree Pan Masala owner, Kamal Kishore, made shocking allegations of torture and extra-marital affairs after she died by
suicide in her south Delhi home on Tuesday.
Deepti was married to Kamal Kishore’s son, Harpreet Chaurasia, in 2010. They have a 14-year-old son. It is rumoured that Deepti committed suicide because of Harpreet’s second marriage to a South Indian film actress. During the investigation, police recovered a suicide note in which the woman alleged marital conflict.

Speaking to ANI, Rishabh, the brother of Deepti, said, “Her mother-in-law and husband used to beat them. Her husband, Harpreet, had affairs. When we got to know about it, we took our daughter home… After that, her mother-in-law took her back.”
“My sister used to call me and say that she was tortured and that her husband had affairs. I don’t know whether my sister was killed or died by suicide. I spoke to her 2-3 days ago. I just want justice… My sister was married in 2010. His relations with her husband were not good,” he added.
Meanwhile, the family’s lawyer said that both families are standing together in this tragic moment and dismissed the statements made by Deepti’s brother, saying he was in a state of shock and emotional distress.
According to reports, her body was found hanging from a scarf. The Vasant Vihar Police have registered a case in connection to the matter and are investigating the case.
Kamal Pasand’s business spans from Kanpur, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. He is the owner of the famous pan masala company, Kamala Pasand. Kamala Kant Chaurasia started his gutkha business in the Fieldkhana neighborhood of Kanpur. About 40-45 years ago, he used to sell loose pan masala from a kiosk, but today his company has a turnover of billions of rupees.
