Whoopi Goldberg Loses Her Temper Mid-Show, Tears Up Sunny Hostin’s Note: ‘No One Understands Nuance’

In the recent episode of The View, aired on November 3,Whoopi Goldberg lost her calm when co-host Sunny Hostin passed her a note. It all started when panellists on the show, including Whoopi and Sunny,

discussed Trump’s sit-down interview with 60 Minutes. Hostin couldn’t comprehend Trump’s response to a question related to crypto billionaire Changpeng Zhao, who pleaded guilty to money laundering charges; however, he was later given a presidential pardon. When Trump was asked the reason behind giving Zhao a presidential pardon, the president told Norah O’Donnell that he didn’t know who he was.

This statement did not go down well with the panellists of the show, as Trump has often criticised former president Joe Biden for allegedly signing numerous pardons at the end of his term using an autopen, claiming Biden wasn’t even aware of what he was approving. Sunny pointed out Trump’s hypocrisy and said, “How come he doesn’t know who this guy is?” To this, Whoopi quickly added, “Because he used an autopen.” The comment instantly drew applause from the audience.

After Goldberg’s joke, the former attorney passed her a blue card across the table. While picking up the card, Whoopi said, “What the hell? What?” The note read, “We don’t know if Trump used an autopen.” This agitated the popular comedian, who went on to say, “It was a joke” and then went on to tear the note given to her by Hostin.

‘No One Understands Nuance’, Says Whoopi Goldberg

As Goldberg ripped the note into pieces, she said, “The hardest thing about this job now is that no one understands nuance. You know when you hear a joke, when somebody is fooling around, when you’re not saying something specifically, especially on this show. I’m very specific when I’m pointing stuff out. When I’m making jokes, you know. This is ridiculous.”
