‘Don’t Spread RIP Posts’: Singer Kanwar Grewal On Death Hoaxes After Rajvir Jawanda’s Accident

Punjabi music fans have been left concerned ever since reports emerged that singer Rajvir Jawanda had been injured in a serious road accident. The artist is currently admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he is undergoing treatment for injuries to his head and spine. Amid the uncertainty, social media was flooded with misleading “RIP” posts. Now, fellow singer Kanwar Singh Grewal has stepped forward with a clarification.

Kanwar quashes death rumours about Rajvir

In a video message shared on Instagram, Kanwar Singh Grewal informed fans that he was present at the hospital and that Jawanda was receiving proper medical care. He assured the public that while the singer’s condition is serious, treatment is ongoing.

Expressing disappointment at

false death rumours, Grewal said he had seen posts circulating online with “RIP” messages, which he described as deeply hurtful. “I am at the Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where Rajvir’s treatment is ongoing, and he is recovering,” he said in his statement.

Calling for sensitivity, Grewal urged people not to spread misinformation during such a difficult time. “Rajvir is fighting for his life. With folded hands, I request people not to make fun of someone’s sadness. Please pray for Rajvir,” he added.

Amrit Maan prays for Rajvir’s recovery

Another Punjabi singer, Amrit Maan, also posted on Instagram, “Aao saare Ardaas kariye Akaal Purakh Waheguru agge k saada bhraa Rajveer Jawandha jaldi theek hoke apne parivaar vich aa jaave… (Let us all pray to Akal Purakh Waheguru that our brother Rajveer Jawandha gets well soon and comes back to his family).”

He further wrote, “Ardaas vich boht taaqat hundi aa.. Aao saare mil k ardaas kariye. te ikk benti aa hatth jorh ksaarya nu k koi v fake news naa felaave..eh ikk maa de putt di zindagi da swaal aa ..Waheguru mehr karvo (There’s a lot of strength in prayers, so let us all come together and pray. Also, requesting everyone with folded hands not to spread fake news. This is the matter of a mother’s son’s life).”

Diljit Dosanjh Shares Message for Rajvir Jawanda

Just a day before his accident, Rajvir Jawanda had shared a video on Instagram promoting his new song. After the tragic incident, fellow Punjabi singers Kulwinder Billa and Kanwar Grewal visited him at the hospital to show their support.

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh also took to his Instagram Stories, posting a heartfelt message for Rajvir. He wrote, “Praying for @rajvirjawandaofficial Veera. Just heard about the accident news.” Fans have since flooded social media with messages, sending prayers and well wishes for his speedy recovery.

About Rajvir Jawanda’s accident

Rajvir Jawanda sustained serious head and spinal injuries in the road accident and is currently on ventilator support, according to a statement from Fortis Hospital cited by PTI. “As per available information, he sustained severe head and spine injuries in a road accident in the morning and also suffered a cardiac arrest before being shifted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali,” the statement said.

Upon arrival, the singer was immediately assessed by the emergency and neurosurgery teams. Detailed examinations were conducted, and he was placed on advanced life support. Rajvir remains in a critical condition and is under close medical monitoring.
