Ryan Rickelton is on fire for Mumbai Indians in their ongoing IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the fixture taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Johannesburg needed just 44 balls to reach the 100-run mark for the Mumbai-based franchise. The century by Rickelton on Wednesday helped him break Sanath Jayasuriya’s record of fastest IPL 100 by an MI batter, and in addition to that, he has also become the first player in the world to score centuries for multiple teams owned by the Mumbai Indians (MI) family.

Before scoring his first IPL century for Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, Rickelton slammed a couple of centuries for MI Cape Town (sister
franchise of Mumbai Indians) in the 2025-26 edition of SA20.
Apart from Rickelton, three more players have scored multiple centuries for teams owned by Mumbai Indians, but none of them were able to reach the triple-digit mark for two MI teams.
While Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have two centuries each to their credit for Mumbai Indians, England’s Tom Banton has scored two centuries in the ILT20 for MI Emirates.

During his stay at the crease, he slammed 10 fours and 8 sixes to help MI post a total of 243 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets. The score of 123 by Rickelton is the highest score by a Mumbai Indians batter in the IPL.
