The India Story, headlined by Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade, hit theatres on July 24, 2026. However, it saw a low turnout on its opening day at the box office. The India Story hardly saw any audience.
According to Sacnilk, The India Story opened to a modest start at the box office, earning an estimated India net collection of Rs 16 lakh on its first day. The film’s India gross stood at around Rs 18 lakh, which also matched its worldwide gross collection, as it did not register any overseas earnings on Day 1.
The India Story was made on a budget of around Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore.
The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress is a Hindi-language drama directed by Chetan DK and produced by Sagar B. Shinde. Starring Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade
in the lead roles, the film also features Murali Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Trisha Sarda, Atul Tiwari, Kamlesh Sawant and Sham Mashalkar in pivotal roles. Principal photography began in Pune, Maharashtra, in January 2025 and wrapped up in October the same year, with several sequences also shot in Kolhapur. Released in theatres on July 24, 2026, the film hit the big screen in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
The film explores the theme of the use of pesticides in farming and how it affects health.
