It remains to be seen whether Harshit recovers in time for the three-match ODI series against England, which is scheduled to begin next week.
Harshit and Varun’s performance in ongoing T20I series
Harshit and Varun were part of India’s playing XI in all three T20Is before being ruled out through injury. However, neither of them got an opportunity to bowl in the series opener at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street after rain washed out the second innings.
The duo returned to action in the second T20I at Old Trafford, where Harshit finished with figures of 1/30 in three overs, dismissing one batter, while Varun claimed the wicket of Will Jacks and returned figures of 1/37 from his four-over spell.
In the third T20I at Trent Bridge on Tuesday, Harshit impressed with figures of 2/40 in four overs, dismissing Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton. Varun, meanwhile, went wicketless, conceding 35 runs in his three overs.
