Hanuman Ansh has become the most profitable film of 2026. Released in August this year with a budget of just Rs 2 crore, the film has crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. While the Vishal Chaturvedi’s directorial has become the talk of the town, not many people thought that the film will ever be made.
In a recent interview, actor Shobhinaw Satyaa, who plays the role of Neem Karoli Baba in the movie, revealed that many people left Hanuman Ansh because they thought that the film will never go on floors. The actor recalled a time when he was the ‘last person standing’ and while everyone left the project director Vishal was adamant to make the movie.
“Many people left Hanuman Ansh, because they thought that this film will not be able to go
on the floors, they won’t reach the location in Chitrakoot. There was a time that I was the last person standing, thinking that it will happen. I had done independent films earlier and witnessed such problems before,” Satyaa told Hindi Rush.
“But in that last moment, even I said that it can’t happen. But, Vishal Chaturvedi kept saying that we will do it. He used to dedicate himself completely. We were not in the condition to even reach there. But, we somehow boarded that train and reached somehow,” the actor added.
Who Is Shobinaw Satyaa?
Shobinaw Satyaa is an actor and filmmaker who made his acting debut with Hanuman Ansh. Before stepping in front of the camera, he had been working behind it as an assistant director. Hailing from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Shobhinaw is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. His earlier work includes contributions to television and streaming projects such as CID, Ragini MMS Returns, Happily Ever After and Mahapaur.
Interestingly, Satyaa’s casting for Hanuman Ansh came unexpectedly. The actor who was initially finalised to play the role of Maharaj Ji fell ill. With production underway, director Vishal Chaturvedi needed someone who could step into the demanding part.
Satyaa was asked to audition. What followed was an intensive five-hour audition, after which Chaturvedi decided that he was the right person to portray Neem Karoli Baba.
