Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was dismissed cheaply for just 7 runs in the second innings of the third Ashes Test against England as Josh Tongue claimed his wicket.
Green, who became the most expensive overseas player in the history of the money-rich Indian Premier League as Kolkata Knight Riders splashed out an astronomical 25.2 Crore Indian Rupees on his service at the mini-auction, has been dismissed for scores of 0 and 7 in the two innings at Adelaide.
Green was removed by Jofra Arche in the very second delivery he faced in the first innings, before doubling-down on his sub-par showing with a run-a-ball-seven-run innings in the second.
Australia, who won the toss and opted to have a bat first managed to put up a total of 371 runs in
the first innings riding on Alex Carey’s magnificent ton, while Usman Khawaja chipped in with a solid 82 runs. Archer was the star of the show for the tourists with the ball as he registered a 5-wicket-haul.
The Aussies limited England to 286 runs thanks to three-fers from Pat Cummins and Scott Bolland while Ben Stokes top-scored for the three lions with 83 runs.
Travis Head, who only managed 10 runs in the first innings of the game, made amends in the second time of asking with a crucial daddy-ton to lead the Aussie charge.
Australia, who hold a 2-0 lead over the English following the conclusion of the initial two Tests, have the chance to wrap up the series in the ongoing third Test if they can manage to win.
