As South Indian stars unite to condemn the leak of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, Rishab Shetty and Lokesh Kanagraj have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their dissatisfaction. They pointed out that a film is made with the efforts of countless different people, and piracy affects their livelihoods. They urged that the audience watch films the right way.
Rishab Shetty wrote on X, “Cinema is built on passion, dreams, and love. Countless people work tirelessly to bring entertainment to audiences. When someone tries to tamper with that effort, even in the smallest way, it deeply affects everyone involved.”

He added, “The unfortunate leak of #Jananayagan is a serious and unacceptable act. As audience please do respect the efforts and stop spreading the leaked footages. Do not kill the strength to give you many more cinemas tomorrow. I stand in solidarity with the entire team and @KvnProductions during this difficult time. Protect our cinema family. #killpiracy.”
Lokesh Kanagraj wrote, “Piracy has always been a gut-wrenching experience for the entire industry, which shatters the dreams of thousands of people who’ve put in their everything for this film 💔Let’s stand with the entire team and support them, and respect their heart. Let’s always consume art the way it was supposed to be, in the big screens ❤️.”

Rajnikanth and Chiranjeevi also took to social media to express their concerns. Kamal Haasan even said that this was a result of systemic failure. Rajinikanth wrote, as translated on X, “The release of the Jananayakan film on the internet by someone has caused shock and pain. Film associations must raise their voice against this, and the government must identify those responsible and impose severe punishment. Such crimes must not be allowed to continue in the future.”
Chiranjeevi wrote, “The unfortunate leak of #Jananayagan is something that deeply concerns me. Cinema is built on trust, effort, and the collective dreams of many. Such incidents affect all of us in the industry and remind us how crucial it is to protect our creative work. We stand one with KVN Productions in containing the damage and punishing the culprits. Let us all extend our support to respect and protect CINEMA! Kill Piracy. Save Cinema.”
Meanwhile, the producers of Jana Nayagan have initiated legal action against the source of the leak, with further proceedings underway. The legal team representing the film’s production house, KVN Productions LLP, has issued a public notice warning against the circulation of any leaked content, including clips, images, or full versions of the film. The team has expressed “shock and urgency” over the breach, and warned of action if leaked scenes are downloaded, shared or reposted on any digital medium.
