Smriti Mandhana now holds the world record for the most runs in women’s international cricket.
The left-handed Indian opener needed 113 runs in India’s Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong China on Thursday (September 3) to surpass Mithali Raj’s tally of 10,868 runs and she needed 60 balls to score 113 runs.
Mithali represented India in 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20Is between 1999 and 2022, scoring 699, 7,805 and 2,364 runs, respectively. On the other hand, Mandhana has scored 788 runs in nine Tests, 5,411 runs in 120 ODIs and 4,681 runs in 173 T20Is.
She now has 10,880 runs to her name in 302 international matches across formats.

Mandhana smashed 124 runs off 64 balls on Thursday to help India post a total of 193/5 in 20 overs. Her century against Hong Kong China was her second in WT20Is and 18th overall in women’s international cricket.
Mandhana is the first Indian to score multiple centuries in women’s international cricket and now also holds the world record for the most centuries in the women’s international cricket matches.
