PSG’s Ballon d’or winner Ousmane Dembele participated in training with his teammates on Tuesday and may be ready to return from injury for this week’s Champions League match against Tottenham.
Dembele has
been sidelined since he was forced off the field due to injury midway through the first half of PSG’s 2-1 home defeat to Bayern Munich on November 4.
On the eve of the match against Tottenham at the Parc des Princes, PSG coach Luis Enrique mentioned that Dembele would be included in the squad “if there is no problem.”
Dembele injured his left calf shortly after recovering from a right hamstring injury he sustained while playing for France in September. Luis Enrique stated he would exercise all necessary precautions with Dembele.
“Each time an injured player returns, it’s challenging to manage the situation,” he said.
“When it comes to Ousmane, I’ll be more cautious than usual. We would love to have him back, but we need to be careful.”
Enrique also remarked that the fixture against the London side, which got the better of the Parisian unit in the UEFA Super Cup earlier in the season, would be of a different complexion this time around.
“That was the first game of the season; Wednesday’s game will be different… We’re more ready to be a dominant team and to win the match. Our goal is the same in every match: to be dominant.”
He also touched up on Brazilian defender Marquinho’s potential 500th appearance and French international Randal Kolo Muani’s showing in Paris.
“It’s an incredible figure! It’s very important for him and his teammates. It’s a beautiful journey accomplished. He’s a true leader, a different player. We hope he’ll last a long time still,” he said speaking on his skipper.
“I can’t say anything about Kolo Muani. He’s an international player of a very high level. “It’s difficult for many players to be important in a team of this level. He’s a top-tier player, but the value of his skill set is difficult to measure.”
PSG defeated Tottenham on penalties during their August encounter in the UEFA Super Cup, securing the French club’s fifth trophy of 2025.
PSG won the Champions League last season and currently sits fifth in the league phase after four games, three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
