Operation Sindoor Anniversary LIVE Updates: Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. On its first anniversary, security has been beefed up across the International Border and several parts of the Jammu region.
According to a report by PTI, teams of the Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted searches in multiple areas of Jammu, while local police increased frisking at key checkpoints and public locations. Border security has also been tightened through continuous patrolling and the use of advanced surveillance systems to monitor movement in sensitive areas. Under Operation Sindoor, Indian forces carried out precision
air and missile strikes on terror infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
According to official information, the operation targeted nine major terror facilities linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Key locations included Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bhimber, and Sialkot. Officials stated that over 100 terrorists were killed during the strikes.
“Operation SINDOOR was a significant demonstration of India’s military and strategic power, executed through a combination of military and non-military measures. This multi-dimensional operation effectively neutralized terrorist threats, deterred Pakistani aggression, and firmly reinforced India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The operation maintained strategic restraint while garnering international support,” a government communique stated.
