Following the wide acclaim for Dhurandhar, a throwback video of Akshaye Khanna has been making rounds on social media, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed the huge female fan following Akshaye used to enjoy at the peak of his career.

The viral throwback clip featured Sridevi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in a promotional interview with NDTV for their film Mom. During the conversation Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed back in the day when he was not married, he would approach a lot of women but got rejected everywhere.

Out of exhaustion the actor ended up asking the women what kind of man they want, and the answer came, “Akshaye Khanna.” Talking about the incident, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared, “Toh woh saari ladkiyon se maine poocha, kis tarah ke ladke ko tum pasand karti ho. Woh sab inki (pointing at Akshaye) fan hoti thi.”

He continued, “Aisi kya khaas baat hai unke andar? Koi unki smile ki baat kar raha hai, koi unki aankhon ke baare mein baat kar raha hai. Toh inki ek ajeebo gareeb badi fan following thi ladkiyon mein, Akshaye ki.”

Showing off his signature wit, Akshaye Khanna asked, “Thi?” to which Nawazuddin quickly corrected himself and said, “Hai! Abhi bhi hai.” Nawzuddin added, “6-7 saal pehele ki baat hai. Lekin woh sab chahte hain, har aadmi chahta hai ki Akshaye phir se kaam karein… bohot kum aate hain, bohot choosy hain actually yeh. But humaare sabki dua hai ki baar baar filmein karein aur logo ko.”

Akshaye Khanna’s Recent Works

Following a brief three-year-long hiatus, Akshaye Khanna returned to the big screens earlier in 2025 with the epic historical action film Chhaava. Led by Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye essayed the role of Aurangzeb in the film.

Most recently, the actor was seen in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. His role as Rehman Dakait was met with huge acclaim from audiences. As per media reports, Akshaye is expected to return to the sequel of Dhurandhar, scheduled to hit the screens on March 19.

Akshaye Khanna is all set to make his Telugu debut in Prashanth Varma’s mythological epic Mahakali. In the film he will be seen in the role of Shukracharya, a pivotal character in the mythological narrative.
