A foreign traveller named Paige has gone viral after sharing her heartfelt experiences while journeying through India. In a video filmed from the mountains, she praised Indians as the “most hospitable” people she has ever met. The solo traveller even said she would “die on that hill,” meaning she would defend her stance no matter what.
Paige recalled several moments that left her deeply moved. She described how her flight to Delhi landed late at night, and her hotel area was closed to vehicles. Her Uber driver parked as close as possible and then walked her the rest of the way to ensure she arrived safely. “A stranger making sure I got there safely,” she said in the clip.
Another incident took place at a pharmacy, where the cashier handed her a free
hand sanitiser because he didn’t have the exact change. Paige also shared more examples in her caption: a woman who walked her to the bus station when she was lost, a man from a local restaurant who offered her a scooter ride when she got stuck in the rain, and an elderly lady who gave her a plate of pakora simply because she “must try.”
“These are just a few of the many incredible acts of kindness I’ve experienced travelling in India,” Paige said, adding that she felt truly welcome as a solo female traveller.
Online users also shared their thoughts on Paige’s experience. One wrote, “Atithi Deva Bhava in Sanskrit means Guests are God’s representatives. Enjoy your trip.”
Another added, “Both kind of people are present everywhere… Most of us are helping and supporting but some stupids are also there… so just be active, aware and enjoy the beautiful India 🇮🇳…. My home, Haridwar and Rishikesh is also lovely place to visit…”
A third comment said, “Have a wonderful stay! Your post is refreshing! So much hate being promoted by bot farms from neighboring countries. Not all your kind are good, neither mine.”
Someone else remarked, “Thanks for the positive reviews about Indians. I wish this reaches the world. Bad stuff and prejudices spreads like wild fire. I wish good stuff too spreads.”
