In a light-hearted moment during their meeting in Bratislava, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Monday sported a grey jacket gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi joked that the two leaders seemed to have unintentionally arrived in a matching colour theme.
PM Modi uploaded a video on his Instagram handle, showing Fico sporting a sleeveless jacket, which is usually Modi’s signature attire on overseas visits, over a white shirt. Fico struck a pose for the camera as PM Modi pointed out the coincidence that both leaders had jackets in nearly matching shades for the occasion.
“What a coincidence, the colour combination is matching,” PM Modi told Fico. The moment offered a glimpse of the warm personal rapport between the two leaders during
PM Modi’s historic visit to Slovakia, becoming the first Indian PM to visit the country since its independence in 1993.
“Prime Minister Fico wore a jacket I had gifted him. And, coincidentally our jacket colours matched today,” PM Modi captioned the video.
PM Modi arrived in Slovakia to a warm welcome on Sunday, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country since its independence in 1993. He held delegation-level talks with his Slovak counterpart, Robert Fico, in Bratislava on Monday, and the two leaders also visited an art exhibition.
India and Slovakia elevated their ties to a comprehensive partnership, inking 11 agreements to expand bilateral cooperation. These agreements have been signed in a range of areas such as migration, digital technology and defence following talks between Modi and Fico.
Held an excellent meeting with Prime Minister Fico. This is indeed a very special moment for the India-Slovakia friendship.

A Letter of Intent was finalised on defence cooperation following the talks between the two leaders. PM Modi also conveyed his appreciation for Fico’s cooperation in finalising the India-EU free trade agreement.
On June 16-17, the Prime Minister will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, where he will engage with G7 leaders, partner countries and international organisations on issues including economic growth, global partnerships and artificial intelligence.
