When we think of Bollywood superstardom, the names of the three Khans: Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir, are often the first ones to come to mind. For decades, their films have denied mainstream Hindi cinema, shaping the childhoods and teenage years of many millennials and Gen Zs. But the generation after that might not be that familiar with the ‘90s heroes, and this video is proof of it.
In the clip shared on Instagram, a woman behind the camera quizzed two young boys about whether they knew about Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. “Aapko pata hai Salman Khan kaun hai (Do you know who Salman Khan is?” she asked one of them. The boy, innocently yet confidently, answered that he is a guy who eats a lot of salmon fish, confusing the actor’s name with the fish.
And when asked about Bollywood’s beloved SRK, he said, “Shah Rukh Khan nahi pata mujhe (I don’t know about Shah Rukh Khan).”
Both Say Salman Khan Is A Guy Who Eats Salmon Fish
She then panned the camera towards the other boy and asked him the same. He adorably said, “Wo ek banda hota hai, wo roz fish khata hai, machli khata hai (He is a guy who eats fish daily).” When asked “Kaun si (Which one)?” He, too, answered salmon. When she further inquired why he thought that Salman would eat salmon, the boy could not come up with an answer and made some cute faces. Both then conclude that Salman is a “big snake”.
The woman asked the two kids if they had ever seen Salman on the screen. Both answered no. Furthermore, when she asked whether they had ever watched or listened to a song by the actor, one of them said no. The other one nodded in a yes. The woman asked him which song. To this, he sang something completely made up.
