Washington, May 19 (PTI) US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will host the two-day G20 Trade Ministerial in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from September 30, his office announced on Tuesday.
The US has listed issues such as ending forced labour, denouncing weaponisation of trade in food, updating the most-favoured nation principle and addressing structural excess capacity and production for the two-day G20 Ministerial on trade.
“The Trump administration looks forward to working with our G20 partners to establish a global trading order based on fair, reciprocal, and balanced trade,” Greer said in a statement.
The US Trade Representative’s office has already launched Section 301 investigations against several nations, including India, on ending forced
labour and addressing structural excess capacity and production.
“At the G20 Trade Ministerial this fall, USTR will lead discussions with the G20 Trade Ministers on a wide array of issues, including ending forced labour, updating the Most-Favoured Nation (MFN) Principle, denouncing weaponisation of trade in food, and addressing structural excess capacity and production,” Greer said.
“President Trump’s tariff program is actively rebalancing global trade, reversing decades of non-market policies and practices to protect American workers and businesses,” he said.
President Trump will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit on December 14-15 at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, as America celebrates its 250th anniversary. PTI SKU AMS
