Commuters in Mumbai have raised an alarm over a dangerous broken chamber spotted on the busy DN Nagar to Versova road, near the DN Nagar Metro Station in Andheri. Thousands of vehicles, including school buses, use this route every day, making the damaged spot a serious safety hazard.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) shows the chamber in a half-broken state, with wide gaps that could easily trap vehicles. To highlight the danger, the user also created an AI-generated video of a biker falling into the gap, showing how a tragic accident could occur if repairs are delayed.
Danger In The Middle of The Road
The video clips show a heavily damaged iron chamber in the middle of one of Andheri’s busiest stretches. Captioning the footage, the user wrote, “The
road has turned into a death trap. Broken drain covers and open cavities are waiting for a major accident to happen.”
In another post, the same user shared visuals of multiple broken chambers and poorly maintained stretches along the road, calling it a sign of administrative negligence.
“The negligence of authorities is putting countless lives at risk. This is not just a mishap; it is a clear sign of administrative failure. Thousands of vehicles, including schoolchildren, pass this road every single day,” the user also mentioned.

Citizens Demand Urgent Action
The posts have sparked strong reactions from citizens online, with many urging immediate repairs to prevent accidents.
A person wrote, “OMG. This is a death trap, and how is this being ignored by the authorities?”
Another added, “Please Look Into This On An Urgent Basis.”
Some responses reflected public anger over the condition of Mumbai’s roads. “Why not 307 IPC registered against the ward officer?” asked one user.
Others repeated calls for urgent action, saying the safety of commuters cannot be compromised any longer.
