Ayushi, A Visually Impaired Contestant, Takes The Hotseat

Ayushi made it to the hotseat after winning the Fastest Finger First round. The emotional moment saw host Amitabh Bachchan personally helping her to the chair, a gesture Ayushi called “unforgettable.”
Ayushi Shares About Her Admiration For Amitabh Bachchan And KBC
Sharing her lifelong admiration for the show, Ayushi said, “Ever since this show began, my entire family has watched it and would narrate to me how the set looks, the lighting, and how you make every contestant feel comfortable. I am feeling very comfortable right now. This show is a feeling for me.”
She also expressed her admiration for Amitabh Bachchan, saying, “I would also hear from people about you. They tell me about how tall you are, your face cut and how handsome you are.”
Big B, visibly overwhelmed, expressed that they are privileged to have her on the sets.
Big B Welcomes Her Mother
During the episode, Amitabh Bachchan warmly welcomed Ayushi’s mother, who shared her daughter’s early struggles with vision impairment. “She is visually impaired and also has a disease. As a child, she would be able to see the blurry light, but her vision also reduced. She has been a very excited and enthusiastic kid. She always had the spirit to do something in life,” she said.
Ayushi’s Professional Life
Ayushi further revealed that she is an IAS officer, serving as a sub-divisional magistrate. She had secured the 48th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Exam all over India and achieved her dreams. Before her selection, she worked as a lecturer for 10 years. Talking about her inspiration, the KBC contestant expressed that her mother and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam have been her strength and inspiration.
Speaking about her first day at work, Ayushi recalled, “It was unbelievable. It felt like a dream come true, and I was living for this.”
Ayushi’s Mother’s Sacrifice
In a touching moment, Ayushi acknowledged her mother’s tireless support. “My mother quit her job to help me. I used to make notes in Braille, and she recorded all my books. She made sure I could listen, study and manage my time well.”
Audience Poll Lifeline
Coming back to the game, Ayushi used her first lifeline audience poll for the Rs 3 lakh question. The question read: As of August 2025, who is the CEO of NITI Aayog? A. Rajiv Kumar, B. BVR Subrahmanyam, C. Ajit Seth, D. Amitabh Kant.
With audience support, Ayushi selected the correct answer: Option B – BVR Subrahmanyam. However, her journey on the episode concluded at the Rs 5 lakh question, but she will return as a rollover contestant in the next episode.
