Rekha is the epitome of grace and glamour when it comes to her love for sarees. From traditional Kanjeevaram to contemporary drapes, the evergreen actor knows how to make every pleat count.
While we love seeing her flaunt the royal shade of a classic Kanjeevaram saree, there are moments when you get to witness Rekha in her effortlessly glamorous styles. For Manish Malhotra’s first-ever feature film, the Gustaakh Ishq film premiere, under his production house, Stage 5, Rekha made a grand entrance in a monochrome saree styled with a long black jacket.
Rekha, who was her charming self, posed for the media present at the screening. The ensemble complemented her positive aura, and every element she adorned celebrated Rekha’s style quotient to the T.
The black saree with bold, big polka dots in gold and silver was strategically scattered over the saree. The subtle shimmer of the polka dots elevated the monochrome drape. Rekha styled the saree with a black textured long jacket that added modern allure to her desi vibe.
The fluid, full-sleeved jacket blended perfectly with the drape, blending traditional draping with a contemporary styling. Rekha accessorised with an embellished sling bag crafted in gold and a pair of chic studded sunglasses that added that extra glam to her saree look.

Rekha completed her stunning look with a pair of dangling gold earrings featuring charms that shimmered in style. The bold red lip and her signature topknot bun hairstyle added a fabulous touch to her timeless look.
Rekha shared a special moment with actor Fatima Sana Shaikh ahead of the screening. Fatima, who was clicking Rekha’s pictures from a distance, received a warm hug from the actor.
Here’s how you style your saree with a jacket this winter season:
- If you have a winter wedding to attend, then styling your favourite saree with a jacket is a must.
- You could either match the jacket or coat with the colour of the saree, just like Rekha did, or you could opt for a contrast colour or embroidery that adds a pop of colour to the monochrome drape.
- Cropped jackets can double up as a saree blouse too. So ditch the blouse and opt for a jacket that keeps you warm and adds a modern twist to your wedding look.
- While choosing a jacket or coat, make sure it does not weigh you down.
- Last but not least, pick a jacket or coat with pockets.
