A video claiming that three sisters from Uttar Pradesh married the same man recently took social media by storm, leaving many users stunned.
The clip, reportedly from Amroha district, showed three women—identified as Saroj (20), Savitri (19) and Santosh (18) — taking wedding vows with the same man, Vikas, a cameraman who had been filming their social media content for the past six months. As the video spread rapidly across social media platforms, many believed the unusual marriage was genuine. But there’s a twist.
The women have now revealed that the wedding never actually happened. According to them, they are content creators who produce videos for YouTube and Instagram, and the wedding clip was nothing more than a prank staged for social media.
The sisters said they had uploaded another video before releasing the prank, informing viewers that it was fictional. However, they never expected the clip to go viral so quickly, with many people mistaking it for a real wedding.
“We made a mistake. We never intended for the prank to create such confusion,” they said.
The sisters said they started creating online content about two years ago. While they have amassed around 11,000 YouTube subscribers and nearly 5 lakh Instagram followers, they claim they are yet to start earning significantly from their content.
They also clarified that only the three sisters regularly appear in their videos, while other characters are played by people hired for acting roles.
The controversy took another turn after the trio appeared before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), where officials reportedly found that one of the girls is a minor.
During the proceedings, the sisters maintained that no marriage had taken place and that the viral wedding was staged solely as a social media prank to attract attention and grow their online following.
According to reports, the sisters are residents of Dhoriya village in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district.
