Homebound Star Vishal Jethwa Recalls Meeting Shah Rukh Khan, Says 'He Side-Kissed Me And...'

Recently, Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa in the lead roles, found a fan in Shah Rukh Khan. Soon after, Vishal Jethwa reacted to Shah Rukh Khan’s praise

by sharing his review on Instagram. In his caption, he also recounted his meeting with SRK.

Vishal wrote, “At the airport lounge, while waiting to board my flight, Neeraj sir messaged me, ‘Come to the other side of the lobby. SHAH RUKH SIR IS HERE.’ Till now, I had only heard from everyone about the beautiful aura Shah Rukh sir carries, but seeing our King Khan for the first time completely mesmerised me.”

He added, “I went crazy in my mind, but of course, I couldn’t say anything in front of him🤭. When I went closer to greet him, he side-kissed me and said, ‘God bless, please take a chair and sit.’ The warmth I felt made me feel like I was Shah Rukh Khan and not him 😂Woowww… wow wow!”

The actor wrote, “I still have this visual in my head: his white T-shirt, side bag, black jacket, beanie cap, cool sunglasses, and a super-luxury brand watch. His soft hands with veins and, and, and… what stayed with me the most was the pitch of his voice, so authoritative, yet humble and graceful.😊 No fancy language or body language. He is not a superstar. He’s just Shah Rukh Khan ♥️”

Yesterday, SRK took to his social media account and shared, “#Homebound is gentle, honest and soulful. Lots of love and big hugs to the phenomenal team for creating something so human and engaging. You have won hearts world over by making something truly special!”

Homebound made its international debut at Cannes 2025. This film marked Neeraj Ghaywan’s return to Cannes nearly 10 years after the premiere of his breakthrough film Masaan. While Homebound became India’s official entry to the Oscars, it was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

The film is backed by Dharma Productions, with Apoorva Mehta, Adar Poonawalla, Karan Johar and Somen Mishra serving as producers. Melita Toscan du Plantier, Marijke deSouza and acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese are on board as executive producers.
