Amazon Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty continues to dominate the global streaming landscape. The coming-of-age romance drama, created by Jenny Han, pulled in an astonishing 70 million viewers in just 70 days, cementing its status as one of the most-watched shows of the year.
According to The Wrap, the third season achieved a 65 per cent increase in viewership from Season 2, becoming the most-watched TV season ever among women aged 18 to 34 on Prime Video. The show also ranked as the number one title globally, holding the top spot in 140 countries, with 60 per cent of its audience outside the U.S., primarily from the UK, Germany, and Brazil.
Beyond its record-breaking streaming success, The Summer I Turned Pretty took social media by storm.
The third season generated 915 million social engagements, 48 billion impressions, and 2.8 billion views. The show’s passionate fanbase made it the second most talked-about Prime Video series, only behind Hazin Hotel.
The series’ influence extended to music as well, boosting streams and sales for artists featured on its soundtrack, including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. According to data from Luminate, streaming for these artists spiked by 4,500 per cent, while music sales soared by 41,200 per cent following the show’s release.

Reflecting on the show’s phenomenal success, creator and author Jenny Han said, “When I first wrote The Summer I Turned Pretty 17 years ago, I could never have imagined it would resonate with so many people around the world and ignite such a passionate global conversation.”
Han added that bringing her beloved book series to life on screen and witnessing the audience’s excitement has been “a dream come true.” She concluded,
