Choo Young Woo, Kim So Hyun To Star In Romance Expert Directed By Ahn Pan Seok

Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun have been confirmed to lead a new K-drama. The two, who will be working together for the first time, have been roped in for ENA’s upcoming show, titled Romance Expert. On Monday, December 1, the channel announced the cast of its upcoming show, scheduled to hit the screens sometime in 2026.

Romance Expert will be directed by Ahn Pan Seok, one of Korea’s most respected directors, who is known for his realistic take on romance. He has previously worked on popular romantic dramas such as Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.

What Did Choo Young Woo And Kim So Hyun Share About Romance Expert?

Speaking about his role in Romance Expert, actor Choo Young Woo, as quoted by Soompi, said,

“I’m so happy to be part of a project by Director Ahn Pan Seok, whom I greatly respect. I’m preparing hard to approach this work a little more academically.” He requested his fans to show “lots of interest” in the upcoming show. He is best known for his roles in Head Over Heels, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and The Tale of Lady Ok, among others.

Meanwhile, Kim So Hyun, who was most recently seen in Park Bo Gum’s Good Boy, shared, “It is truly an honour just to be working with Director Ahn Pan Seok, and I am very excited. On top of that, Yoo Jin’s bold charm in ‘Romance Expert’ really pulled me in.” She promised her fans that she would give her best to the project.

Romance Expert: Plot

The upcoming drama will revolve around the love story of Park Minjae (Choo Young Woo), a once-aspiring swimmer who lost his leg to osteosarcoma, and Im Yoojin (Kim So Hyun), a mechanical engineering student, who finds a new path as a graduate after losing her way as a medical resident.

Minjae, who had to give up his dream of becoming a swimmer due to his illness, decides to pursue robotics. After many attempts, he finally gets selected at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University. He pretends to be nonchalant on the outside, but he is scared of getting hurt.

As for Yoojin, she was on the verge of graduating, but an unfortunate incident derailed her future. She then decided to switch fields and enrolled in the same robotics course as Minjae. Along the way, their love story blossoms.
