Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller Dhurandhar hit the theatres on December 5, and has quickly become one of the most talked-about films of the year. Featuring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal,
R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, the film has received praise from both audiences and critics. Although Ranveer is the lead hero in the film, Akshaye’s performance as the menacing Pakistani crime lord and politician Rehman Dakait has turned out to be an unexpected screen-stealer.
The scene that has stood out the most is Akshaye’s powerful entry, set to the energetic track FA9LA. The song, which comes from Bahrain, was written and performed by rapper Flipperachi with Daffy and produced by DJ Outlaw. The intimidating persona of the actor’s character, coupled with a minimal dance style, has made the scene a fan favourite. But guess what? Akshaye was not the first one to dance that way.
Vinod Khanna Performed The Same Steps During An Event In Lahore
His late father, the legendary Vinod Khanna, was once captured doing the same steps. The Internet has dug out an old clip of the late actor, dancing alongside Bollywood actress Rekha and former Pakistan cricket captain and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan. The video is reportedly from an event in 1989 in Lahore. The clip captured the trio cheerfully shaking their shoulders to the beat of a song at the event.

Internet Can’t Get Over The Similarities
Fans were quick to point out that his hand movements in the clip bear an uncanny resemblance to Akshaye’s now viral steps in Dhurandhar. Reacting to it, one user joked, “NVM I got it, Akshaye Khanna has copied his father in Dhurandhar.”
“It’s hereditary. Something passes on to the next generation, and it ends up showing it in a very subconscious way. You can’t beat nature, biology!” said another.
“Like father, like son,” a different person mentioned.
Akshaye Khanna Improvised FA9LA Entry
In an interview with Filmygyan, Akshaye’s co-star Danish Pandor revealed that the viral steps were never a part of the choreography in Dhurandhar. Those steps were improvised by the actor himself during the shoot. “He did all of that on his own. Full choreography was happening, and in the middle of that, Akshaye sir asked Aditya, ‘Can I dance?’ Aditya said, ‘whatever you feel like doing,’” Danish revealed.
He further added, “So everyone is dancing, and he looks at everyone, and then he starts dancing on his own. And we were all awestruck.”
