Mumbai’s Dadar railway station received a bomb threat on Sunday, creating panic in the area. The incident prompted swift response from Mumbai Police.
According to officials, the call was received at Shivaji Park police station, following which a joint team of the Government Railway Police (GRP), local police, and a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot. The entire station and nearby areas were thoroughly checked. After an extensive search, no suspicious objects were found.
“It appears to be a hoax call,” a senior police officer said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace the caller.
This comes on the same day when Delhi airport and several other institutions across the national capital received bomb threat emails.
An official from the Delhi Fire Services confirmed that the bomb threat emails were sent to CRPF Public School in Dwarka and a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar. Following thorough checks by security teams, the threats were declared a hoax, bringing relief to students, parents, and staff.
“Police teams, fire personnel, and bomb disposal units were promptly deployed to the affected schools to carry out a search operation properly. However, nothing suspicious was found,” the official said.
On September 13, bomb threat emails were sent to three Max Multi-Speciality Hospitals located in Dwarka, Shalimar Bagh, and Saket in Delhi, sparking concern and a swift security response.
That same day, Hotel Taj Palace in Chanakyapuri also received a hoax bomb threat. Delhi Police quickly moved into action, deploying heavy security around the hotel and conducting a detailed search with bomb disposal squads to ensure the area was safe.
Earlier this month, on August 22, an ISKCON temple in Mumbai received a threat email on Friday, prompting immediate action by police authorities.
In response to the threat, police and the bomb disposal squad carried out a thorough search of the temple premises to ensure the safety of devotees and staff.
