Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal has become one of the most talked-about films. The movie, which was released on May 15, is now going to be screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, on May 17, in a special screening. In recent times, the movie made headlines for reportedly being banned in the UAE, but these reports do not seem to bother the makers of the film.
Now, in a major development, Bollywood Hungama has reported that the movie will have a special screening, and preparations for the Rashtrapati Bhavan screening have been underway quietly over the last few days. While details about the invitees and attendees are still being kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that the movie will be screened today, on May 17.
Aakhri Sawal Box Office
According to
trade reports, the film earned Rs 73 lakh net in India on Day 2 across 1,894 shows. While this marked an 82.5 per cent jump from its opening-day earnings, the total numbers remain modest for a film reportedly mounted on a budget of around Rs 30-40 crore.
The movie opened with Rs 40 lakh net on Friday. With Saturday’s collection added, its total India net box office collection now stands at Rs 1.13 crore. The India gross collection has reportedly reached Rs 1.35 crore after two days in theatres.
Times Now has quoted a source mentioning that the film has been banned in the UAE as the censor board recommended several cuts for the film’s release. The makers were confident about their decision to release the same version as in India. But now they chose not to release there at all.
