Over 25 cars gutted in fire at garage in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jul 27 (PTI) More than 25 cars were gutted after a massive fire broke out at a garage here early on Monday, police said.

The incident occurred around 5.30 am at a car garage in Thanisandra. No casualties were reported, they said.

According to police, more than 25 vehicles, including several high-end cars, were completely gutted in the blaze. The fire spread rapidly through the garage, engulfing the parked vehicles.

Five fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the blaze under control.

Police suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire.

“More than 25 cars were completely gutted in the fire. The SOCO (Scene of Crime Officers) team will analyse the scene and submit a detailed report to ascertain the exact cause,” a senior

police officer said.

A case has been registered at Sampigehalli police station, police said, adding that further investigation is underway. PTI AMP ROH
